You're the person who wants to know how things work. Maybe you've taken something apart to see what's inside, wondered how a bridge was built or been curious about what keeps an airplane in the air. If that sounds like you, NSCC offers hands-on programs that can help you turn that interest into a career.

Find a program that fits your interests

Whether you’re curious about how things work, enjoy figuring things out or like learning by doing, there's a program that matches your interests.

Building, infrastructure and engineering design

Programs for builders, designers and future technologists. You like figuring out how things work and how they could work better. From early concepts to finished projects, you're interested in what it takes to bring ideas to life.

Architectural Engineering Technician
Learn how buildings move from concept to construction through this nationally accredited program. Create the plans and drawings used to bring projects to life while developing a portfolio of work. This program includes an opportunity for paid co-op experience.

Civil Engineering Technology
Learn how roads and public infrastructure move from planning to construction. In this nationally accredited program, you build the skills to survey land and support the projects that help communities grow, with opportunities for paid co-op experience and further study.

Drafting – Architectural
Turn building ideas into plans and 3D models. You learn how construction projects are designed and documented using the same software and tools used by professionals, with opportunities for paid co-op experience and further study at university.

Electrical Engineering Technology
Learn how electrical power and automated systems keep communities and industries running. In this nationally accredited program, you build the skills to design and maintain electrical and automated systems, with opportunities for paid co-op experience and further study.

Electronic Engineering Technology
Design and troubleshoot the electronic systems behind today's connected technologies. You build skills in circuits, automation and embedded systems through this nationally accredited program that offers pathways to further study.

Electronic Systems Technician
Understand what makes modern technology work. You build the skills to troubleshoot and repair the electronic systems behind modern devices and equipment, with a paid co-op option and pathways to further study or specialized careers.

Mechanical Drafting and Design
Turn product ideas into digital designs before they're built. You learn to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings used in manufacturing while building experience with industry-standard design software and modern prototyping technology.

Mechanical Engineering Technology
Learn how machines and mechanical systems are designed, built and improved. You build hands-on experience turning designs into working mechanical systems. This nationally-accredited program offers opportunities for paid co-op experience and further study.

Occupational Health and Safety
Learn to identify workplace hazards and build safety programs that protect employees. This program satisfies the educational requirement for the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designations.

Environmental and climate technologies

Programs for environmental stewards, outdoor enthusiasts and science-minded learners. You learn best by doing. You'd rather be out in the field than behind a desk. Whether you're collecting data, working on the water or troubleshooting complex systems, you gain hands-on experience applying science and technology in real-world environments.

Environmental Engineering Technology – Water Resources
Help protect and manage one of our most important natural resources: water. You learn how to monitor water quality and interpret environmental data to support sustainable water management, with opportunities for co-op and further study in this nationally accredited program.

Natural Resources Environmental Technology
Turn your interest in the outdoors into a career protecting natural resources. Through hands-on fieldwork, you learn how to assess environmental conditions and make recommendations that support healthy ecosystems.

Oceans Technology
Apply your background in engineering or science to ocean environments. You gain hands-on experience deploying equipment, collecting data and supporting projects at sea through vessel-based training and a 16-week internship.

Wind Turbine Technician
Learn how wind turbines work and develop the skills to keep them operating safely and efficiently. You gain hands-on experience on wind farms working with turbine systems while earning Global Wind Organization safety certifications and completing a field placement.

Aircraft maintenance technologies

Programs for born mechanics and detail-oriented thinkers. You look at an aircraft and wonder how thousands of parts work together to get it off the ground. You enjoy understanding how machines work and take pride in getting things right. The technical skills and attention to detail needed to keep aircraft operating safely are at the core of these programs.

Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Structures
Work with the materials that form the body, wings and other key parts of an aircraft. You build hands-on skills repairing and rebuilding airplane and helicopter components, with credit toward an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence and opportunities for further study.

Aircraft Maintenance Technology - Avionics
Learn how an aircraft's cockpit instruments and electronic systems work together. You build hands-on experience with aircraft electronics in a working hangar environment, with credit toward an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence and pathways to further study.

Aircraft Maintenance Technology - Mechanical
Learn how aircraft engines and mechanical systems keep airplanes and helicopters operating. You build hands-on skills servicing aircraft in a hangar setting, with credit toward an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence and options for further study.
