Recent Policy Updates

This section highlights the most recent changes to NSCC’s policies and procedures. Updates may include new policies, revisions to existing ones, or the retirement of outdated policies. Staying informed of these changes helps ensure consistent understanding and application across the College.

Policy updates as of October 27, 2025:

Fundraising and Gift Acceptance Policy:

  • Policy Name Change from Fundraising Policy to Fundraising and Gift Acceptance Policy
  • Procedural content moved to Fundraising and Gift Acceptance Procedures document

Intellectual Property Policy:

  • New clause 1.3 to provide for situations where specific contractual arrangements exist
  • New section 4.1(c): Clarification for students hired as Employees of NSCC
  • New clause 4.3 License to College on Non-Commercial use of IP and Teaching Materials. Clarifies license for IP created in ordinary course of employment
  • Updated language in clause 4.9: Approval to provide distinct approval for Research IP and Academic/Teaching and Learning IP
