2SLGBTQ+ student supports

A designed image with text that reads: Belonging starts with us. The word ‘belonging’ is in bold font. The design features Pride colour accents, a NSCC Pride logo and a thin rectangular box outlines the perimeter.

Supports and services

Students who self-identify as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community can access a range of supports and services designed to foster connection, inclusion, and success throughout their academic journey. These offerings provide opportunities to ask questions, explore resources, and build a sense of belonging on and off campus.

Available supports and services include:

  • Workshops promoting awareness and education of 2SLGBTQ+ communities and navigating issues such as homophobia and transphobia.
  • Access to community resources both on-campus and within the broader community to support well-being and personal development.
  • Support and advocacy for pronoun and name changes, identity and gender expression.
  • Opportunities for connection and community building with other 2SLGBTQ+ students including engagement with campus Gender Sexuality Alliances (GSAs).
  • Participation in events and experiences celebrating 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
  • Guidance for applying to NSCC awards, scholarships and bursaries for 2SLGBTQ+ students.
