Why NSCC

  • Step into a growing, in-demand industry. Nova Scotia's tourism sector generated $3.7 billion in revenue in 2025 - an 8% increase that outpaced the national average - and now employs more than 55,000 people across the province, giving you a strong, close-to-home job market to graduate into.
  • Learn the business behind great experiences. These programs were developed with industry, for industry, helping you develop the specific skills that reflect current hospitality and tourism trends and employer needs.
  • Build real, paid experience before you graduate. Both programs include a mandatory paid co-op, giving you the opportunity to apply your learning and graduate with industry experience already on your resume.
  • Learn in a dynamic environment that reflects industry. Depending on your program, you develop hands-on skills working in a campus training restaurant and simulated hospitality environments. You also take part in tourism activities, events, excursions and industry projects that connect you to the visitor economy.
  • Connect with the industry while you’re still a student. Build relationships with hospitality and tourism professionals through industry projects, community partnerships and events, including opportunities to attend and participate in the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS) summit.
  • Open doors to leadership opportunities. Our programs help you develop the leadership, business and operational skills needed for supervisory and management roles through hands-on experience in real work environments.
