NSCC’s Entrepreneurship team supports students and recent grads in launching or growing their business ideas. We offer hands-on experiences, one-on-one mentorship and resources. You can also apply for financial assistance and join College-wide challenges to build career-boosting skills and drive real change in your community.

Programs and funding opportunities

Collide Discover Free 7-week virtual program (1.5 hours per week), offered in partnership with Dal Innovates, to help students and recent alumni develop key entrepreneurial skills. Apply by June 6, 2025; starts Oct. 8, 2025.
Entrepreneur in the Making Funding up to $3,000 is available for NSCC students and recent alumni (Class of 2020 to present) to start or expand businesses across Nova Scotia. Read how Sydney used EITM funding to expand her business

Activities and events

Challenge Nova Scotia (login required) A province-wide competition for NSCC students to solve social issues in Nova Scotia. Teams of 3-5 create 90-second videos based on a challenge revealed by the Premier and NSCC President. Top solutions earn cash prizes.
Enactus A network of leaders empowering students to build businesses for social and environmental change, collaborating to bring innovative ideas to life. Read about NSCC Pictou's award-winning Enactus project
Innovation Sprints Participate in 4-hour events to tackle real challenges from alumni-led businesses, build skills and compete for cash prizes. Free for students to join. 

Resources

Dartmouth Makerspace (login required)

A collaborative space where students explore technology, build skills and work on hands-on projects using tools like 3D printers, a laser cutter and electronics workbenches.

Business advisory sessions Email us for free, one-on-one business counselling to start or grow your business, including guidance on plans, marketing, HR, regulations and financing.
Community connections Reach out to connect with our network of entrepreneurial supports, community resources and service providers across the province.
