Land Acknowledgement

NSCC is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded territory and traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of peace and friendship treaties between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the Crown, dating back to 1725.

As Treaty beneficiaries, we recognize that we are all Treaty People.

Province expands education, training in disability support sector The Province has partnered with NSCC to offer 30 additional seats in the Disability Support Professional program at Ivany Campus this fall, in addition to the 100 full- and part-time seats at Kingstec and Sydney Waterfront Campus.

Students receive $150K to turn ideas into climate solutions Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) and Wawanesa Insurance are investing in youth-led climate innovation, awarding a total of $150,000 to five projects across Canada. Business Administration student Camila Del Aguila received $30,000 to advance her research project, Controlled Environment Agriculture for Climate Resilient Food Security.

College IT projects prove incredible work possible in rural Nova Scotia Students studying IT Programming at Burridge and Lunenburg Campuses presented their capstone projects during a virtual showcase earlier this month. Sensor monitoring of water quality in live wells and lobster pounds, a GPS locator for lobster trap buoys, and using AI to transcribe and dispatch fire emergency radio callsa, were among the projects presented, highlighting the incredible work being led by tech students in rural communities.
