About ECDSC

The Early Childhood Development Support Centres (ECDSC) offer ongoing training and resources to early learning professionals throughout the province. Our services are tailored to the needs of individual communities and coordinated provincially in collaboration with the Early Years Professional Development Committee.

Services include (but are not limited to):

• Assessment of needs and development of in-service training
• Delivery of professional development
• Support in implementing the Early Learning Curriculum and quality programming
• Provision of resource centre services
• Leadership at the community level in the areas of building partnerships, as well as information and resource sharing

Additional services and resources include:

• Lending library including:
  • resource books
  • activity kits
  • children's books and story sacks
  • equipment
  • videos, magazines and journals
• Online support including access to our resource database, list of events for each centre along with useful links and information
• Access to periodicals, newsletters and information from provincial, national and international early childhood and education organizations
• Access to onsite workspace with computer software, printer/scanner/photocopier, laminator, die cut, and a variety of materials for use with children in early childhood settings
