The Rehabilitative Care Worker (RCW) assists participants, in a safe and supportive manner, with all aspects of daily living including personal care and program participation.
The RCW also facilitates resident decision-making, skill development and independence, in accordance with residents’ goals, needs and care plan, that align with the current Remedy and Human Rights.
RCW supervises and assists with meals and snacks, clothing care, recreation activities, vocational programs and other activities as assigned.
The RCW performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Client Supports, or delegated representative(s). He/she attends professional development opportunities and meetings as required.
Current Core Competencies as required by Department of Community Services:
Ø Fire & Life Safety
Ø Personal Care
Ø Individual Program Planning
Ø Behaviour Supports
Ø Medication Awareness or willingness to obtain same within six (6) months of hire
