Junior IT Technician

About the Position

We are looking for a motivated Junior IT Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will support our daily IT operations while gaining exposure to real-world software environments and systems management. You will work directly with our senior leadership, providing a unique opportunity for mentorship and professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

• Providing Tier 1 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Assisting with the deployment and configuration of workstations and devices.
• Maintaining accurate IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and asset inventories.
• Supporting network monitoring and server maintenance tasks under senior supervision.
• Assisting with basic web updates or API testing as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an NSCC IT program (e.g., IT Generalist, Systems Management, or Cyber Security).
• Strong foundational knowledge of Windows/Mac OS and common office software.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with hardware components and ability to perform basic repairs or upgrades.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a "can-do" attitude.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between the office and local service locations.
• Ability to work on-site at our Barrington Passage location.
