Land Acknowledgement

NSCC is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded territory and traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of peace and friendship treaties between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the Crown, dating back to 1725.

As Treaty beneficiaries, we recognize that we are all Treaty People.

Forging her own path: Ronda Frigault's experience in plumbing When Ronda Frigault (NSCC Plumbing Apprenticeship faculty) joined the skilled trades 26 years ago as one of a few women working in construction in Nova Scotia at the time and just the second woman in the province to earn a Red Seal in Plumbing. She learned early on what it meant to build a career where few women had gone before.
