This refresher training course is designed to comply with regulations to refresh a seafarers training skills in basic emergency duties through the demonstration of practical drills and exercises. This training will allow a seafarer to renew two MED training requirements (MED STCW BS and MED PSC) for a period not exceeding 5 years. To participate in this course you must be 16 years of age or older and may be required to complete a fitness test. You must also have the following Training Certificates: STCW Basic Safety, Proficiency in Survival craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats, and Advanced Fire Fighting or equivalent. All students registering for Marine Emergency Duties (MED) training must complete the Fatigue Management at Sea e-course, as required by Transport Canada. The course is free for Canadian seafarers who have a valid Canadian Document Number (CDN). Proof of course completion must be submitted to NSCC before a MED certificate can be issued.
