Blazing a trail in the music industry
Corey LeRue is driven by an unwavering passion for music.
After graduating from two NSCC creative arts programs, Corey gained attention as a member of Neon Dreams – one of Canada’s fastest rising acts.
Corey’s education and hard work helped turn his passion into a career as an award-winning producer, songwriter, remixer and engineer. He shifted his focus from touring to production and launched Halifax-based Dreaming Out Loud Records with his fellow band members. His production company caught the interest of Warner Music Canada, and the two joined in a partnership a few years ago.
“I wanted to take my passion for music and turn it into a career,” says Corey. “I went for it, took the plunge, and I think I’ve been rewarded for it.”
Corey believes celebrating local talent will help stimulate the music industry in Nova Scotia.
“It’s very important to me that my label is based in Halifax. There is a sweet vibe here and my focus is to bring artists here.”
