Course overview
This course will introduce the learner to the foundations of dental instrument reprocessing. Course material will cover the basics of infection prevention and control, including the chain of infections. An introduction to the requirements for safe disinfection and sterilization will be discussed and students will have the opportunity to gain clinical practice in these skills. Students will be introduced to the preparation of dental operatories for use following Provincial regulations.

This course includes a combination of online and on-campus classes. Online learning may require students to participate in scheduled meeting times.

Required Supplies: Access to a computer, CSA approved safety glasses, clinic shoes (closed-toe solid shoe), scrubs (pants and top with no clinic logos / identifiers), and a wipeable 1-inch binder for a clinic manual.
