Powerline Awareness provides training in electrical awareness and the potential hazards of overhead and underground power lines for unqualified persons working outside the Limits of Approach. Students will learn to plan work to manage the risk of powerline contact, to carry out a hazard assessment to identify potential electrical hazards and appropriate response and rescue procedures in the event of electrical contact or accidents. Topics include regulatory requirements and safety standards, hazards of working around live equipment and lines, evaluating situations, and emergency procedures.
A College Services Fee and Student Association Fee will apply for part-time students registered in credit courses.
