NSCC releases 2026 fall milestone enrolment count

Oct. 08, 2026 – Statement

Halifax, NS – A total of 10,164 students were enrolled in certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and graduate certificate programs at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) campuses across the province as of October 1. This fall milestone count provides a moment-in-time snapshot of enrolment.

It is anticipated that NSCC will welcome over 20,000 students over the course of the full academic year through the College's full suite of 2026-27 offerings. This encompasses apprenticeship, continuing education and customized training.

The College’s 2026-27 program plan allowed for the delivery of over 130+ program offerings which aligns with the needs of learners, employers and industry. This year’s program plan and fall milestone enrolment count reflect fewer one-time funded programs, the prioritization of higher-cost skilled trades programs, and an anticipated decline in international student enrolment.

NSCC conducts a follow-up survey with our graduates each year and those results show that 91% are employed, most in their field of study, with 94% of those employed living and working in Nova Scotia. These students are living the mission of the College: through education and innovation, they're growing the province’s economy and quality of life.

NSCC has already begun recruiting for programs beginning in 2027-28. We encourage people to explore the College’s full range of programming and the careers they can lead to, including in high demand sectors like the skilled trades and healthcare. Offers of admission for the next academic year begin as early as this November.
