Why you should take Music Business

Music equipment in front of a live audience.

Nova Scotia has one of the richest talent pools for music in the country. With tremendous potential for growth through export, employment-ready industry professionals are needed now more than ever across the province.

To meet this demand, NSCC’s Ivany Campus is offering a new graduate certificate in Music Business. Delivered in person, you learn from expert faculty with years of experience in touring, managing artists, booking venues, promoting shows, writing grants, finding distribution channels and more.

Experiential learning is at the core of this program so you “learn by doing.” As a student, you get opportunities to reflect on your experiences with your classmates when you volunteer at festivals, learn how to put on your own showcases, develop viable marketing plans and more.

The number of the roles and opportunities that exist in the music industry are vast. Taking Music Business at NSCC will prepare you for all kinds of related professions in music and beyond.
