About the Position

Volunteer Opportunity: Lighting, Sound & Special Effects Technician in Windsor, Nova Scotia for a Junior B Hockey Team Production Crew

Are you passionate about live event production, lighting design, or music/sound systems?

Looking to build your resume and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment?

We’re a non-profit hockey organization based in Windsor, Nova Scotia, and we’re looking for a volunteer with knowledge and experience in DMX lighting controllers, smoke/fog machines, and music/sound production to help us take our game-day atmosphere to the next level.

We’ve made major upgrades to our lighting and audio-visual equipment this off-season, and now we need someone to help us unlock its full potential!

If you love hockey, live events, or just want to be part of something exciting in your community — this could be a perfect fit.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Operate and manage DMX lighting systems during home games
  • Control smoke/fog machines and other special effects
  • Coordinate and cue music/sound production for pre-game, intermissions, and goal celebrations
  • Collaborate with the team and game-day staff to create a high-energy, professional arena atmosphere
  • Assist with setup, testing, and troubleshooting equipment as needed 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Some experience or working knowledge of DMX lighting systems, fog/smoke machines, and music production software/systems
  • Someone reliable, creative, and enthusiastic about creating great fan experiences
  • Available for all 15 home games during the upcoming Junior B hockey season
  • Ability to work independently, while collaborating with our team
  • A passion for hockey or live events is a big plus!

Time Commitment:

  • 15 home games throughout the season (mostly evenings/weekends)
