About the Position

Maritime Electric Company, Limited (MECL) is seeking candidates for a GIS Technologist position.  

Reporting to the GIS & Data Analytics Coordinator, the GIS Technologist position is responsible for T&D asset and connectivity modelling, asset data management, GIS model integrity, and supporting data collection programs.

The position includes developing and maintaining geospatial applications and tools, performing spatial analysis for operations and project support, managing the quality assurance of data in the GIS and producing reports with geographic data utilizing data visualizations.  

 

This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The pay range for this position is between $67K and $85K per annum.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a college diploma or in Geographic Information Systems, or equivalent certificate. Preference will be given to candidates with two to five years of relatable experience.  

The candidate must possess but not limited to the following skills and knowledge:

  • Proficient working with ESRI GIS software suite including enterprise geodatabases, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online
  • Working knowledge of Python, ArcGIS Arcade, and SQL
  • Working knowledge of ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboards
  • Working knowledge and effective use of computer programs for word processing, data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to interpret survey drawings and CADD files for geospatial modelling
  • Organizational skills and attention to details when executing tasks
  • The ability to apply problem solving, job task planning, and organizational skills in the day-to-day requirements of the position
  • Project Management skills would be considered a valuable asset
  • Working knowledge of data analytics software, such as Power BI, would be considered a valuable asset
