About the Position

About Us

We are a group of 3 Rental Management companies:

  1. Cygnet Properties - with rental properties in Halifax and Dartmouth.
  2. Castle Grove Estates - a growing mini home community in Elmsdale.
  3.  a double-wide mini home park in Hubley.

Our office is located at 187 Bluewater Road in Bedford, NS. These companies employ 8 people, 6 in Castle Grove, 1 maintenance for Cygnet and one in the office. These numbers will expand as time goes on. We have employee benefits which start after 3 months of employment. This includes dental, medical and eye exams.

The office hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Salary starts between $42,000 and $45,000, which will be determined at time of hire. This position can also be full-time/part-time, which can also be discussed at time of hire.

Job Tasks

  • Coordinate phone communication for all 3 properties (one phone line)
  • Record each rent and/or lot payment (coming in monthly from tenants and/or owners by e-transfer) in excel spreadsheet for each development. 
  • Post each rent payment to the relevant property.
  • Handle bank Statements and visa statements
  • Post payable invoices in Sage 50 and paid in the appropriate timeline.
  • Manage HST/GST filings
  • Manage Payroll and Payroll Taxes
  • For mini homes:
    • HRM Permits – information on the mini home is scanned and placed in the HRM Portal
    • Keep track of new owners and ensure all information is received for recording lot rents
  • Coordinate e-mail correspondence, including tasks like:
    • Emails are printed if applicable and looked after where they are required in a timely manner
    • Dealing with Tenants, tenant emails and issues they may have.
    • Tenancy and lease questions (having some knowledge of the rules and regulations of the tenancy Lease Agreements would be an asset).
    • E-transfers
    • Invoices

 

Qualifications

  • Someone that has an accounting background in Sage would be an asset
  • Someone who knows about tenancy and can deal with issues regarding tenants would be an asset
  • Great Microsoft Suite skills - email, Excel and Word 
  • Works well with others
  • Can manage their time and work independently
