About the Position

RCMP Victim Services Volunteers will reach out, via RCMP provided cell phone, to victims of non-violent crimes and offer resources. For example, a volunteer would call a recent widow and provide the phone numbers for Bereavement and Grief resources and mental health resources. All resources will be provided by the program.     

Each volunteer will take the program cell phone home for one week of the month. The program coordinator will call or email the referrals. The Volunteer makes the call within 48 hours and fills out a one page record and returns it to the program coordinator.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month.

Qualifications

  • 1/2 day of training
  • Criminal Record Check
  • RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Suitability Interview
  • RCMP Volunteer Application required
