Position: ECE Centre Support, Summer Student Locations Hiring: 1690 Prospect Road, Hatchet Lake, N.S., B3T 1P7Type of Employment: Full-time, Seasonal (May 1st to August 30th) Wage: $ 16.00/hour (If a leveled ECE, wage will reflect the N.S. wage scale for ECE’s) REQUIERMENTS: - This is a summer student position only. Applicant must have been attending school up to April 2024 and returning to school in September 2024. - Applicants must be able to start May 1, 2024. - Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. - Clear Child Abuse Registry Check - Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C.
- Understanding of/ familiarity with childhood development and able to support classroom educators to provide an enriching program to enhance young children’s learning through a child lead, play-based, emergent curriculum. - Work both independently and collaboratively with center administration, co-workers, families and other participating members and partners. - Support in maintaining an environment that protects the health, well-being, safety, and security of children. - Practices a sensitive, caring, and individualized approach to caring for children and meeting their needs in a variety of ways, considering aspects of a child’s life, family culture, and how they learn. - Support the educators’ teaching practices that help meet the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children. PLEASE NOTE: Hatchet Lake location require employees to have access to their own transportation. No public transit goes to this location.
