Bird’s Nest Café & Catering is a busy downtown café and catering company, and we’re expanding our catering operation and need the next great team member to lead the team! This position comprises both cooking and planning of catering orders. We do corporate breakfast and lunch catering, so operations will be daytime only.
In this role, you will be the lead on organizing and scheduling catering orders, prepping orders, and facilitating them out the door with our delivery team.
The Day to Day:
- Prep catering orders along with the team,
- Ensure orders get out the door on time,
- Organize orders and components for the next day,
- Order ingredients and supplies,
- Make batch items towards the catering and café operations, like soups, cookies, salads, sauces, etc.
- Answer phone calls and emails from customers regarding catering orders,
- Maintain and clean and organized kitchen,
- Have a great time socializing with your co-workers! The best part of any workday is conviviality among friends!
Above all, you will be organized and focused, to ensure that orders are properly scheduled and executed on time, every time. You must have a minimum of two years in a catering operation where you have had a hand in producing orders. It’s a bonus if you’ve been in a position of scheduling orders before, but not necessary. You must work well with others, but also able to self-direct and direct others who you will be managing.
