About the Position

Job Description:

As a Client Associate, you will be responsible for growing client portfolios through dedicated relationship management, trusted investment advice, and exceptional client service. You will work closely with an Investment Advisor (IA) and their team to help manage client portfolios, provide administrative support, and develop new business. You will directly engage with high-net-worth clients to offer support, uncover business opportunities, and proactively improve clients' experiences.

Responsibilities: 

  • Administrative Support - Maintain compliance standards in client dealings/client files. Conduct administrative activities and engage in administrative processes to support your IA's team. Engage in marketing/business development activities, assist in the development of investment plans, and create written proposals for prospects and clients. As determined by your IA, assist in processes to direct assets into suitable financial products based on the client's risk reward tolerances and demographic profile.
  • Client Engagement - Focus on each client's experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful. Enhance relationships by collaborating with your team and providing administrative support to ensure client needs are met. Anticipate client needs and communicate promptly with your team to build trust and deepen client relationships. Identify activities, processes, and opportunities to improve the client experience.
  • Business Development - Proactively identify business opportunities for your team. Work closely with your IA to support business development activities and assist in the building of investment plans based on the client's profile, goals, and risk/reward tolerance.
  • Relationship Building - Heighten CIBC brand awareness in your community by attending local events and participating in marketing and outreach activities. Grow your network to create lasting connections that will generate future opportunities. Work closely with your team to connect clients with the right opportunities.
  • Organizational Skills - Support your IA by providing timely responses to client requests and maintaining compliance standards in all files. Enable team success by improving team productivity, proactively uncovering business opportunities, and helping to direct assets into the right financial products.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • You have completed (or nearly completed) a Bachelor's Degree.
  • It is an asset to have current accreditation for the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH), and the Investment Representative (IR) license/Registered Representative (RR) license. Successful applicants without accreditation must become fully licensed within 1 year of start date.
