About the Position

Delco Automation is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our Delco Security team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional setting, while learning about ICAT - Information, Communication, and Automation Technology. The Intern will be responsible for assisting with various projects, such as installation, programming, and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow their skillset.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the project team in staging and pre-programming equipment, including IP Cameras, Access Control Panels, PLCs, Nurse Call Systems, RTLS, and other IP devices. ·   
  • Assisting senior technicians in the installation and servicing of ICAT equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to project requirements.
  • Working with minimal supervision under the guidance of the PM or Senior Tech, demonstrating the ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Interpreting electrical drawings and technical documentation to understand installation requirements and assist in the implementation of field equipment.
  • Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve installation-related problems, and ensure the successful deployment of field equipment.         
  • Participating in site visits and inspections to support installation activities, providing hands-on assistance and adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Assisting in the testing and commissioning of field equipment, conducting functional tests, and verifying proper operation to meet project specifications.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
