About the Position

Delco Automation is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our Delco Security team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional setting, while learning about ICAT - Information, Communication, and Automation Technology. The Intern will be responsible for assisting with various projects, such as installation, programming, and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow their skillset.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the project team in staging and pre-programming network equipment and IP devices.
  • Assisting senior technicians in the installation and servicing of network equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to project specifications.
  • Working with minimal supervision under the guidance of the Project Manager, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and proactively address challenges to meet project deadlines.
  • Reviewing and interpreting network designs, drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation to understand system requirements and assist in the implementation of network infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve network-related problems, and optimize system performance.
  • Participating in on-site visits and inspections to support installation activities, providing hands-on assistance and following safety protocols and best practices.
  • Assisting in the testing and commissioning of network systems, conducting functional tests and verifying proper operation to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
