About the Position

Under the direction of the Center Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping campers in the camp program developed by Code Ninjas Halifax staff to meet the needs of staff and participants. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Facilitate and plan summer programming for children 5-13 years old.

* Provide a fun and safe learning environment for children.

* Knowledge of systems, syntax, curriculum & technology (training will be provided)

* Write and program new iterations of existing programs to develop continued learning for students.

* Write technical notes for new programs and enhance curriculum.* Analyze and manage student data.

* Report daily to the Centre Director on the day's activities and productivity in Dojo.

* Report weekly to the Centre Director on the progress of the camp and feedback on the camp.

* Suggest changes to help improve productivity and entertainment value for the campers.

* Provide an inclusive camp experience which includes working with participants with different needs (i.e. children with disabilities, children with behavioural challenges, newcomers, and language barriers).

* Assist in the development, implementation, and supervision of a diversified camp program in cooperation with the Center Director and other Staff members.

* Effectively and promptly communicate with staff concerning all issues related to participants, equipment, supplies or anything that would impact the quality and safe delivery of day-to-day operations.

* Assist the Camp Coordinator in the development and facilitation of training week for camp staff.

* Inform the Center Director on a daily basis on customer feedback and program effectiveness. Act as a knowledgeable resource to parents and participants.

* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
