About the Position

CBDC Blue Water hosts various business training & entrepreneurship development workshops and events to support our small businesses in rural HRM. Blue Water also partners with various other economic development agencies in HRM who coordinate and host events to deliver resources that support small business. Assisting our small businesses is more important than ever in this post-COVID economy. CBDC Blue Water is working hard to create opportunities for entrepreneurs to return to in-person events where meeting people, sharing who you are and what you do, and gaining some valuable contacts and information is so important.

The Special Events/Project Coordinator would have the following responsibilities:

Organizing, attending, and participating in various events, stakeholder meetings, Board meetings, and project committee meetings.

Work with business associations, chambers of commerce, and economic development agencies to establish strategic partnerships and collaboration projects

Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets, and expenditures.

Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.

Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.

Ensuring event/project deadlines are met.

Providing leadership and administrative support as needed.

Hours: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday (with the occasional evening/weekend shift) 35 hours/week

Hourly Rate: $17.00

Qualifications

Special Events Coordinator position

Starting mid-June

Applicants must be eligible for a government program and be between the ages of 15 – 30 and be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred.
