WHEN: July 15-22, July 22-19, Aug 5-19, or Aug 15-19
Each week, we bring in 8-12 volunteers who serve as camp counsellors for the campers. These volunteers spend the week on site helping to deliver an unforgettable experience for our campers! Our volunteer counsellors join a team of core staff who are present throughout the whole summer to make the camp a reality. Responsibilities include: - Help with leading activities - Building relationships with the campers - Supervising and looking after the needs of the campers as a part of the team of staff. - (Note: Experience with kids is an asset)
What volunteers get out of it The experience of a lifetime. You will work hard for long hours but get just as much out of it. The campers will expose you to a different perspective and the value of appreciating what you have in life. You will grow as a person, gain skills and insight. You will have just as much fun as the kids in a safe, carefree, welcoming, and relaxing environment. It is a great experience in its own right and translatable to graduate school, health professional programs, residency applications, teaching school, and ‘real world’ jobs!
