About the Position

The Philanthropy Assistant will assist the Philanthropy team, reporting to the Philanthropy Manager and working closely with the Events Coordinator by ensuring the effective and successful implementation of fundraising programs.

  • Assist with the planning, logistics, execution, and evaluation of Brigadoon Village's fundraising & donor events.
  • Assist the Philanthropy Team with the management of The BIG SWIM, our new signature event, and other 3rd Party events.
  • Overall event administration and support (especially BIG SWIM).Assist in the development of communication initiatives such as content creation forparticipant, guest & volunteer communications, and recruitment etc.
  • Assist with the planning, creation, and evaluation of social media for Philanthropy.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Compensation: $15.50/hour paid bi-weekly

Hours of Employment: 37.5 hours/week - at times you may be expected to work hours in addition to a standard work week to which you acquire lieu time to be used within the same month.

Work Term: Monday, May 8th, 2023 to Friday, August 25th, 2023.

Location: 5523A Young Street, The Hydrostone Market, Halifax, NS. Our marketing, fundraising and administration team are based in our office in the Hydrostone Market in Halifax, NS. You will, on occasion, be required to travel out of the city and/or out of the province as part of your employment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills including problem solving, analytical and organizational skills, creativity, and innovation.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, such as social media, Microsoft Office programs and database entry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment of competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and events effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and team building skills.
  • Positive, resilient attitude and desire to learn.
  • A commitment to meeting Brigadoon's founding principles.
  • 2 + years work experience.
  • Enrollment in an accredited post-secondary institution, preferably with a focus in marketing/communications.
