About the Position

Pickford and Black is a high volume restaurant located on the waterfront of downtown Halifax. Our Kitchen Team strives to use the best of what the Maritimes has to offer to create a delicious menu that not only incorporates amazing fresh seafood, but also farm fresh local produce, meats and poultry.

As a Line Cook, You Will

  • Prepare food and menu items to the highest standard
  • Cook menu items in co-operation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Clean kitchen and work area
  • Follow all operations policies and procedures
  • Work alongside of the restaurant team to establish a safe and fun atmosphere

  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Love for building strong relations with team members
  • Flexibility - Our back of house staff will work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
  • A desire for personal and professional development

What You Bring

  • Cooking experience is an asset
  • A culinary diploma or degree is considered an asset
  • Ability to multitask and maintain high energy in a fast-paced environment
