JOB SUMMARY:The Financial Accountant applies knowledge of accounting theory and procedures to perform general accounting duties and project work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Reconciles General Ledger monthlyAnalyzes and provides clarification of accounts for managers as requiredRecodes incorrect invoices, credit notes and General Ledger entriesInputs journal entries in SAPSupports cost-reduction and process-efficiency opportunitiesUpdates departmental budget templatesPrepares diverse financial reports on a regular basisParticipates in the analysis of the annual expense budgetParticipates in preparation for year-end auditAssists auditors by responding to questions and gathering informationRecommends and develops improvements to accounting processes on an on-going basisProvides assistance to the Finance Manager as required

REQUIRMENTS:Post-secondary accounting diploma or certificate
PREFFERED:University degree with a concentration in accounting, or community college accounting diplomaCurrently a professional accountant (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA), enrolled or planning to enroll in a professional accounting programAccounting experience in a manufacturing environment
