About the Position

Description

Reporting to the Director of the Louis-R.-Comeau Library, the successful candidate shares overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the library. It provides efficient, courteous and high-quality service to the university and college community by supporting library users. The successful candidate ensures the processing of information resources in any format. It works to promote library, its services and resources.

Duties

  • Provide technical services to the department, including the application of resource description standards and the coordination of document processing;
  • Support Library users, including answering directional, timely and in-depth reference questions and providing user training, tours and resource guidance;
  • Promote and develop the collection in collaboration with his team;
  • Maintain statistics and prepare reports on services and resources associated with its role;
  • Report to the Director of the Library within the scope of her mandate and perform any other duties assigned to her by the Director in this context

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma in documentation technology or a related field of specialization with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and quality control. Apply ADR 21, RDA, AACR2, and Library of Congress classification system standards to control library resources in computerized systems.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for the use of new technologies and emerging protocols. Also demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse audience, including users from the university and college community, members of the public and Library partners.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and self-employment skills are also of great importance.
  • Working in both of Canada's official languages is mandatory.
