Land Acknowledgement

NSCC is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded territory and traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of peace and friendship treaties between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the Crown, dating back to 1725.

As Treaty beneficiaries, we recognize that we are all Treaty People.

Truro students learning to grow food in aeroponic towers A partnership between students at NSCC and Truro Middle School has grown and is filling bellies in the process. NSCC Enactus students from Truro Campus are working with youth to teach them how to grow their own food in aeroponic towers. The group also conducted a survey, shedding light on food insecurity in the area and shared their findings over a homegrown dinner at a community meeting.

New skilled trades’ pathway to launch in MODG schools this fall Starting this fall, high school students in Guysborough and Canso will have access to the Options and Opportunities (O2) program, designed to bridge the gap between school and the skilled trades workforce. The program provides students with a guaranteed pathway to NSCC.

Locals win hardware at Skills N.S. competition NSCC students from Fall River and surrounding communities brought home plenty of medals from a Skills Canada – Nova Scotia competition held this month at Sydney Waterfront Campus. Some of these winners will also represent Nova Scotia at the 2025 Skills Canada national competition next month in Saskatchewan.
