Loans, renewals and returns

Borrowing library materials

All NSCC and Novanet students, faculty and staff, as well as Community and CURBA borrowers, may borrow resources from any Novanet Library.

Curbside pickup is available for library resources for all NSCC students, faculty, and staff, as well as alumni and community members. Learn more about this service.

More information:

  • There is no limit to the number of items that may be borrowed (some restrictions may apply).
  • Loan periods for most materials are three weeks.
  • Term loans for faculty may be available.
  • Items may generally be renewed up to a maximum of 3 times online, by telephone, or in person at any Novanet library, providing there are no outstanding requests from other borrowers.

Returning library materials

Materials may be returned to any Novanet library or BARA participating library. Reserve items must be returned directly to the owning NSCC library. NSCC students must return all library materials prior to convocation. Failure to do so may result in fines or replacement charges, restricted or suspended library privileges or withholding credentials.

Holds

Novanet borrowers may place holds on items that are currently on loan. When returned, the item will be delivered to the Novanet location of your choice and you'll receive an email when it is ready for pick up.

If an item has 3 or more holds, the loan period for that item is reduced to 10 days. Holds cannot be placed on reserves or College equipment. To cancel a request, please contact your Campus Library.
