Library staff member Danielle and cover of The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Description from Novanet Catalog: Coates originally set off to write a book about writing...but found himself grappling with deeper questions about how our stories -- our reporting and imaginative narratives and mythmaking -- expose and distort our realities.

April smiling in front of library stacks and movie poster of Parasite. Parasite directed by Bong Joon Ho

Jobless, penniless, and, above all, hopeless, the unmotivated patriarch, Ki-taek, and his equally unambitious family occupy themselves by working for peanuts in their squalid basement-level apartment. Then, by sheer luck, a lucrative business proposition will pave the way for an insidiously subtle scheme, as Ki-woo summons up the courage to pose as an English tutor for the teenage daughter of the affluent Park family. Now, the stage seems set for an unceasing winner-take-all class war.

Picked by April Sampson, Strait Area Campus Librarian.

Library staff member, Kydra, and movie poster of The Iron Claw. The Iron Claw from Criterion-on-Demand

If you love to cry - this movie is for you. Based on the true story of the Von Erich's, a family of professional wrestlers from the 1980s with a tragic history, this story will anger you and devastate you all at the same time. The casting here is fantastic, and Zac Efron really comes into his own in this role.

Picked by Kydra Mayhew, Ivany Campus Librarian.

Greg's Staff Pick Library staff member, Greg, and movie poster of The Disaster Artist

A delightful tribute to the joy and madness of making movies, The Disaster Artist follows the outrageous adventures of eccentric filmmaker Tommy Wiseau and his best friend, actor Greg Sestero. These two endearing misfits move to L.A. and try to live the Hollywood dream by making their very own feature film, but end up embarking on a wildly unpredictable and hilariously unforgettable production, leading to one of the most infamous, bizarre, and beloved midnight movies of all time, The Room.

Picked by Greg Hayward, Pictou Campus Librarian.
