Kicking off 2024, we’re ready to share exciting stories from our donors and community with our Spring 2024 Update.

In this update, you'll learn more about current and new awards for Black and African Nova Scotian students at NSCC, along with the incredible impact of donor-funded programs and awards supporting NSCC students pursuing work-integrated learning experiences.

Maestro Fresh Wes Scholarship supporting Black youth in trades: Meet Maxwell Maxwell, a Welding student at Akerley Campus, is honoured to be the first recipient of the Maestro Fresh Wes Scholarship, created by Wes to celebrate his induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the JUNO Awards.

CEWIL funding sets graduate up for success in unpaid work-term and beyond The Smart WIL Award, established by CEWIL, supports students like Wesley, giving them the extra push they need to succeed while pursuing the unpaid work-integrated learning (WIL) placements required for graduation.

Career fairs, connections and competitions for NSCC students and alumni Thanks to NSCC's event sponsors and industry partners, the College hosted four events from January to March to help students from various programs prepare for the next steps in their careers.
