Cost of Living Supports

Relief to address increased costs of living

Rising costs of living are putting pressure on students while pursuing post-secondary education. The rising costs are putting students at risk of their education, facing decisions between paying for school or putting food on the table.

To assist students during these times, our donors have stepped forward to provide cost of living supports to NSCC students through programs such as Rapid Response, Urgent Aid and NSCC Emergency Housing, along with province-wide initiatives to aid in Food Insecurity at NSCC Campuses.

Read more about cost of living programs and initiatives for NSCC students below and how you can make a difference by donating to NSCC.

Rapid Response

Rapid Response provides flexible support that addresses the immediate and emerging needs of students across NSCC’s 14 campuses.

Urgent Aid

Urgent Aid funding is available to help when students encounter unanticipated financial challenges that may disrupt their ability to continue their NSCC education.

Food Insecurity

Students facing food insecurity can access NSCC campus and community food security initiatives such as food banks, grocery gift cards, meal programs and more to stay fed and healthy while pursuing their studies.

NSCC Emergency Housing

When triaging students in need of emergency housing, the program brings together various options for NSCC student advisors and counsellors to access to support students.
