Pride, success and celebrations

As we’re about to step into the summer season, we are excited and proud to celebrate the hard work and success of NSCC students with you.

This summer, we share with you exciting community stories that show thriving 2SLGBTQ+ students, the impact of new funding for students pursuing skilled trades, alumni giving back and awards helping students achieve their dreams. We also highlight the outgoing Board Chair of NSCC Foundation’s Board of Directors with a leadership update.

Dustin and Zach: A couple's NSCC journey of defying the status quo Partners Dustin and Zach are celebrating a journey of defying the status quo as they graduated from NSCC's Shelburne and Burridge Campuses together this summer, thanks to their mutual support for each other and student awards.

Student dreams of amplifying 2SLGBTQ+ voices after finding his own: Meet Theodore After returning to Halifax in 2017, Theodore Misseri began to realize and embrace his identity as a trans-man. Today, the NSCC RTJ student has found his voice and purpose with dreams of amplifying 2SLGBTQ+ voices.

Building success: From humble beginnings to a limitless future With support from the Growing Nova Scotia's Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary, recent graduate Charles Miranda found his calling in NSCC’s Plumbing program and is building toward his dream of being an entrepreneur.
