Creativity flourishes in culturally safe environments where diversity of thought and lived experience is recognized, encouraged and celebrated. Together, we can work toward a more diverse representation within Nova Scotia's creative economy through access to education. By encouraging and supporting students from communities under-represented in the sector, we can have a lasting impact.
The Spark Creativity Student Bursary Fund
The Spark Creativity Student Bursary Fund, established by NSCC's School of Business and Creative Industries, is designed to make a difference. 100% of donations made will fund bursaries for students from communities under-represented in the creative sector, helping them to pursue Creative Industries programming at NSCC. Our students have a direct line to industry, with 89% of employed graduates finding employment in their area of study.

Spark Creativity 2026 takes place on Thursday, May 21. This event highlights the talents of students and alumni from our Creative Industries programs and celebrates the vibrant future of Nova Scotia's creative economy. Stay tuned for the launch of ticket sales and more event details.

Your support makes a positive difference for students as they work towards their educational goals.
Supporters have raised nearly $38,000 for Spark Creativity Bursaries since its inception in 2023. To date, Spark Creativity Bursaries have been awarded to 22 equity-deserving students as they began their journey with NSCC. Hear directly from the recipients in our 2025 Impact report.
