What is Giving Tuesday?

Tuesday, December 2, 2025, is Giving Tuesday. It is a global day of giving and the world's largest generosity movement, empowering community members every year to come together in support of the causes close to their hearts.

For the fifth consecutive year, NSCC is proud to team up with the J & W Murphy Foundation and post-secondary institutions across Nova Scotia to support a cause close to our hearts: helping students facing food insecurity.

Food insecurity is a pressing barrier faced by our students, with 53% of NSCC students reporting low or very low food security in the 2023 Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey.

What is Food for All Fall?

NSCC Foundation’s Seasons of Giving: Food for All Fall is a province-wide fundraising campaign focused on supporting students facing food insecurity at NSCC through our Rapid Response Fund.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Rapid Response to support food security initiatives across the College, ensuring that no student goes hungry and there is enough food for all.

To help reach this goal and more this Giving Tuesday, the J & W Murphy Foundation is generously matching donations to Rapid Response up to $10,000, doubling your impact.

How can I get involved this Giving Tuesday?

There are many ways you can get involved to support students facing food insecurity this Giving Tuesday, including:

  • Donate online to Rapid Response to support student food security and double your impact
  • Start a fundraiser on behalf of NSCC Foundation
  • Start a food drive for a Campus Food Security Initiative by emailing us at
  • Follow us on social media to share our campaign and tag NSCC Foundation and the College

To get started:

  1. Follow the Foundation at @FoundationNSCC on Facebook and NSCC Foundation on LinkedIn to help spread the campaign on social media
  2. Download the branded NSCC Foundation Food for All Fall social media graphics
  3. Use or take inspiration from the example social media posts below
  4. Make your post and tag the NSCC Foundation and NSCC
