Web.com Achievement Fund

Donors like Web.com are opening doors to learning for students at Burridge Campus in Yarmouth and the Digby Learning Centre.

Their $50,000 gift has created the Web.com Achievement Fund, which will help five local students each year with tuition costs, through $1,000 bursaries.

An additional contribution of $25,000 to urgent aid will assist students facing financial crisis.

"Students are our future. We hope this donation will remove barriers that might be keeping them from pursuing school," says Karen Churchill, Vice President, Customer Service, Web.com.

Motivated to help

The company employs approximately 300 people in Yarmouth, designing and managing websites for clients ranging from self-employed plumbers to professional athletes. Many of their employees are members of the NSCC alumni community.

Karen has also donated her time to Make Way, serving as Regional Campaign Chair for Burridge Campus and Digby Learning Centre. As a community leader and employer who hires NSCC graduates, she is motivated to help.

"NSCC transforms lives in our community, while responding to business needs as they arise," she says.
