August has given us the incredible summer weather that Nova Scotia is known for. This month we’ve launched the official NSCC Alumni Instagram account! We’re excited to connect and share the latest news and alumni stories, events, giveaways, benefits and more. We’re holding a special Instagram giveaway in the coming weeks, so be sure to follow us.

There’s still time for you to join NSCC’s Start-Up Accelerator program starting this September! This 30-week program is designed to work around your schedule with much of the learning being done on your own time. This is a new program specifically offered to alumni to help develop the entrepreneurial skills you need to launch and manage your future enterprise. NSCC Alumni is proud to sponsor $1,050 of tuition for all accepted into the program for the 2022-23 academic year. Apply for the Start-Up Accelerator program today.

In partnership with Turtle Island Institute and NSCC Foundation, the College is proud to support an important video project highlighting Mi’kmaq Deaf language reclamation. This Honour Song Translation project is a collaboration with many community members including Deaf Mi’kmaq signers, Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Language Holders, translators, singers and dancers. Congrats to new grad, Tom Fraser (Social Services ’22), who was featured by SaltWire for opening a therapeutic equine program in Pictou County with his spouse, Victoria. It Takes the Herd offers wellness sessions with the horses to help people learn to manage their feelings.
