Compare and contrast these systems with the healthcare structure in your own country to better understand different approaches to public health. Visit a variety of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, detox centers, and residential homes for the elderly, to see the diversity of care practices in action. Participate in a workshop with the Red Cross to learn about emergency response, community health initiatives, and disaster management strategies. Additionally, you will explore the significant role of natural medicine in Costa Rica, discovering how traditional remedies are integrated into modern healthcare. Learning Outcomes

Student Eligibility
This program is open to full-time NSCC students in any program at NSCC who are interested in topic of global health. Students must be in good academic standing. Some international learning programs can fall under the Prior Learning and Assessment (PLAR) Procedures | NSCC. Students interested in this process should seek advice from a faculty advisor and academic chair prior to travel to review whether the international learning program could satisfy program or course outcomes.Travel advice and advisories
