Kip McGregor's Story

My trip to Vietnam was the trip of a lifetime. From the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City to the peaceful countryside in Tra Vinh, every day was full of new sights, delicious food, personal connections, and unforgettable moments.

As part of the Change Maker Project, I worked on a project focused on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It was great to team up with students from both Canada and Vietnam, where we shared ideas, learned from each other, and had a lot of fun along the way. Throughout my time, I learned a lot about the similarities between Canada, Vietnam, and other countries that were relevant to what we were learning about.

Some of the highlights include elaborate dinner meals, a cycling trip, loud and hilarious karaoke, and connecting with amazing people. I learned so much - not just about sustainability, but about culture, community, and myself.

I came home with new skills, fresh perspectives, and a bunch of new friends. I’m so grateful for the experience and already dreaming about going back one day!
