My Experience in Canada

Being my first time traveling to North America, my trip to Canada is a story to tell!

Halifax, a great tourist city surrounded by generous and welcoming people, gave me warmth and all that I wanted for almost all the days of my stay.

We landed at Halifax Airport on Thursday, September 26th, in the evening hours, and we were warmly received by our charming hosts at Cambridge Suites Lodge.

From day one, everything was hot! The whole of Halifax is an excellent and attractive place with different tourist sites:

  • The cultural town of Lunenburg
  • Halifax Citadel National Historic Site
  • The predominant indigenous Mi’kmaq in Truro
  • The Canadian Museum of Immigration
  • The beautiful gardens in Downtown Halifax
  • The cool harbours of non-freezing waters

I managed to visit all of these and gain a lot of experience on how to set up tourist sites at my college.

The climax of my visit was the International Conference at Nova Scotia Community College - Akerley Campus in Dartmouth. In here, different colleges and ministries worldwide presented their works. Many original works and innovations were brought to light. This was a place where I gained a lot of experience and networking opportunities throughout my teaching career.

Lunch at Ann’s house was something I cannot forget

Canada, a country of diversity, with hardworking people, and respect for human dignity.

I’ll be missing the morning church bells in Downtown Halifax and looking forward to exploring the North Island College on the other side of North America.
