Kenya Blue Economy Skills Training Program (KBEST-13)

Project/Initiative
The Kenya Blue Economy Skills Training (KBEST) Program is led by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) in partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Education. It focuses on strengthening the capacity of training institutions in the Great Lakes and Coastal regions to deliver inclusive, market-relevant skills for the Blue Economy (BE).
KBEST aims to increase access to employment-focused training for women, youth, and vulnerable groups through modular and competency-based programs, recognition of prior learning, blended delivery formats.
The program fosters strong linkages between institutions and industry, with Canadian colleges and institutes sharing expertise in curriculum development, applied research, and industry engagement to support Kenya’s socio-economic development through the BE.
