Project/Initiative
NSCC International, in collaboration with the School of Technology & Environment at the IT Campus, hosted a study tour for a group of five students and one instructor from Berufskolleg für Technik und Gestaltung (btg), a vocational college for technology and design in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The study tour focused on Information Technology and provided students with exposure to applied learning at NSCC through classroom participation, student projects, industry visits, and cultural activities in Halifax and Dartmouth.
Services provided
- Introduced students to applied Information Technology education at a Canadian public college;
- Provided opportunities to participate in IT classes, student projects, and hands-on learning activities at the NSCC IT Campus;
- Facilitated industry visits to enhance understanding of the Canadian technology sector;
- Promoted cross-cultural learning and collaboration between Canadian and German students and faculty;
- Supported cultural immersion through homestays and guided cultural activities in Halifax and surrounding communities;
- Enabled reflection on similarities and differences between Canadian and German approaches to vocational education, technology, and workplace culture;
