Project/Initiative

The Azubis Go to Canada Program, a pilot initiative funded by the Joachim Herz Foundation (JHS) in Hamburg, Germany, was designed to provide participants with exposure to apprenticeship and trades training in Nova Scotia. A total of 13 apprentices from Hamburg (Germany) were part of the program in 2023 and 2024.

The program also aimed to improve participants' English language skills and foster a deeper understanding of Canadian culture.

  • Understand the importance of networking for professional growth
  • Culture exchange and English improvement
  • Students’ exposure to apprenticeship and trades training by auditing NSCC classes and participating in local company visits
  • Develop the structure for mobility and further cooperation between European and Canadian VET colleges
