As a new employee you’re considered either term or probationary. This page is for Management Confidential employees that are either probationary (a new full-time or part-time employee that has yet to complete their probationary period at the College) or term (a full-time or part-time employee with a set start and end date). If you’re unsure of your status, please refer to your offer letter.

Please ensure you read through all the steps and fill out all the paperwork. It’s necessary to ensure timely pay and benefits as well as access to your NSCC email account. Incomplete or late information may result in a delay in payroll enrolment and your ability to access email and the intranet. Your ESA will provide you with further information on all your benefits when you start your employment. Please contact your ESA if you have any questions when completing the forms.
Step 1 - Complete all mandatory payroll enrollment forms

Step 2 - Review benefit summaries, guides, and videos
Reviewing these summaries will help you understand what's available and which benefits are mandatory, which are optional, and what your premiums will be for the various benefits.

Step 3 - Complete all mandatory group benefit forms
Please note that you must be enrolled in a government health plan (such as MSI) to be eligible for benefits coverage. Please contact your Employee Services Advisor (ESA) if you have any questions or concerns.
- Medavie Blue Cross Application – health and dental (PDF 237KB)
- Waiving Health and Dental – proof of comparable coverage (PDF 116KB)
- Proof is required if you are waiving health and dental coverage due to having comparable coverage with another group plan (i.e. your spouse’s plan)
- Dependent Life Enrolment Form and Designated Beneficiary Form (PDF 237KB)
- Note: your signature must be written in ink
Step 4 - Complete any optional group benefit forms if interested
- Optional Life Application and Change Form – Management Confidential (PDF 205KB)
- Manulife Non-Smoker Declaration Form (PDF 91KB) (required for Optional Life insurance application)
- Voluntary Critical Illness Enrolment Form (PDF 505KB)
Step 5 - Submit transcripts and other documentation
Be sure to submit transcripts and other required documentation as outlined in your offer letter, to your ESA.
Step 6 - Complete the documentation checklist

Step 7 – Submit all completed forms to your Employee Services Advisor (ESA)

Step 8 – Await meeting with your Employee Services Advisor (ESA) and your manager
Once you've submitted your forms, you'll be invited to meet with your ESA or your manager to review any questions or concerns.
