Getting involved with entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial related activities helps you build a stronger and more employable skillset. Many of our graduates have gone on to start their own business and/or to support our local business community through their work.

Benefits of entrepreneurial skills

A few of the many benefits of entrepreneurial skills include:

Making you more employable and providing opportunities for career growth

  • An entrepreneurial mindset positions you to support the small and medium-sized businesses that you work for by bringing your strengths, knowledge and skills to support their business needs.

Enhancing your opportunities as a business owner

  • If you're interested in starting a company, entrepreneurship is a practical career option that allows you to turn your skills, values and passions into a business. It allows you to bring an idea to viability while helping you remain agile and responsive to what the regional and provincial economy needs to thrive.

Develop an entrepreneurial skillset

You can develop your entrepreneurial skills by immersing yourself in settings where you experience and practice  these skills such as:

  • Working with and observing entrepreneurial thinkers and leaders
  • Project-based work
  • Volunteer experiences
  • Shadowing entrepreneurs
